The Rev. Torrence Harman

Torrence became Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in February, 2007. She was
formerly Assistant Rector of St. James’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia.
She attended Virginia Theological Seminary and received her Masters of Divinity
degree from Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian
Education in Richmond in 2003. She was ordained a priest in the Diocese of
Virginia in July 2004. Before Seminary Torrence was an attorney and mediator
for approximately twenty years in the central Virginia area.
Torrence is a native Virginian who spent many of her childhood and early adult
years on weekends and summers here in the Northern Neck on the
Rappahannock. In accepting her call to Trinity she said she felt like she was
coming home.
Torrence is married to J. W. (“Buff”) Harman, Jr., an attorney. Between them
they have five adult children, seven grandsons, three granddaughters, one more
granddaughter on the way and a big Labradoodle named Mac who also loves the
river. |
